Here at ZBO Drill Industries we are always focused on quality of the products that we manufacture. We utilize advanced technologies to ensure the product reliability and wear resistance.
In order to improve wear resistance, fatigue limit, exclude jamming of the thread and reduce the likelihood of breakages of the drill strings ZBO Drill Industries utilizes the following proceses:
Friction welding
Friction welding is connecting metal parts using heat formed by friction. This process is applied mainly for the tool joints of round bars or cylinders rather large diameter. One of the workpieces is rotated and two parts are connected with the pressure. As a result the heat generate by the pressure is welding two parts together. To improve the quality of welded surfaces was acquired welder "Thompson - 60", which made world famous by british company Thompson Friction Welding.
Induction hardening
Surface hardening with electrothermal heating by high frequency currents increases the hardness of the surface layers of the drill pipes with a simultaneous increase in abrasion resistance and wear resistance. For all types of surface hardening it is essential to heat the surface layer of parts to quenching temperature and follow with a rapid cooling.
